Terms of Service

Last updated: July 16, 2026

1. The Service

PORDL provides an OpenAI-compatible API proxy that routes chat-completion requests to third-party model providers, plus a read gateway that retrieves permitted open-content sources as markdown (together, "the Service"). PORDL does not build or host the underlying models; responses are generated by the selected provider.

2. Accounts and eligibility

3. Acceptable use

Use of the Service is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. All requests pass an automated content-safety check; prohibited content is refused and is never forwarded to a provider. You must also comply with the usage policies of the model providers that serve your requests.

4. Fees and billing

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the prompts you submit and, as between you and PORDL, to the completions returned to you. You grant PORDL the limited right to transmit your content to the selected model provider and the content-safety screening system solely to operate the Service. PORDL never logs prompt or completion content; cached responses are held only in a short-lived (≤1 hour) cache to serve identical requests, then auto-expire — see the Privacy Policy. Content generated by third-party models may be subject to the generating provider's terms.

6. Read gateway

The read gateway retrieves material only from a curated set of sources whose licenses permit reuse, at your direction and on your behalf. You are responsible for complying with the source license (including attribution and share-alike terms, which are returned with each response) and applicable law. You may not use it to circumvent access controls, bulk-extract a single source, or access non-public resources.

7. Availability and changes

We may modify the Service, including the model catalog and routing behavior, at any time. We target high availability but the Service is provided without an uptime guarantee. Upstream providers may be unavailable; automatic failover is best-effort.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts or keys for violation of these Terms or the AUP, for non-payment, or where required by law, as described in the AUP.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Model outputs are generated by third-party systems and may be inaccurate; you are responsible for evaluating outputs before relying on them.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PORDL'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO PORDL IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. PORDL IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

11. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold PORDL harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, the AUP, or applicable law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes is the state and federal courts of California.
